Sharing is Caring
As the year that has been like no other draws to a close, we reflect on the amazing caring and sharing AT community. Through difficult times our community continues to inspire and guide us in all that we do.
Our AT Peer Mentoring Pilot programme commenced at the beginning of lock-down and it is due to our community’s ability to quickly adapt that made the pilot such a success. View our presentation from the recent PwDWA Inaugural State Conference on our research insights and outcomes.
Personifying the sharing is caring nature, Paralympian Elizabeth Edmondson showed us her renovations that have make her home safer and more accessible. AT Chatter Robyn Luke wrote about her journey of purchasing a Thermomix with her NDIS funds in our latest blog.
Acknowledging the challenges that people with disability have experienced this year, our Christmas giveaway focused on raising awareness of our supportive community. Check out the winners below.
That AT Chat team hoped you all had a happy, safe, and festive season and phew, thank goodness 2020 is over. Bring on a brighter and more connected 2021!

AT Chat Best practice
AT Chat is committed to research, evidence-based practice and co-design. In the spirit of sharing, we are thrilled to release our work that formed the AT peer support model. This includes our Research document that was created in collaboration with Dr Natasha Layton from Swinburne University of Technology.
AT + Me - Elizabeth Edmundson
Home is where the heart is. We were delighted to be invited into Elizabeth Edmondson's home so that we could share the renovations to her kitchen and bathroom that both look good and make these spaces so much safer and more accessible.
"Both in the bathroom and in the kitchen, I've just got the space that I never had before and it's all lower down for me."
Blog Post: Thermomix by Robyn Luke
In our latest blog post Robyn shares the process she followed to obtain her Thermomix using her NDIS funding and how it has helped her achieve some of her NDIS goals. "I am enjoying the satisfaction of successfully preparing and cooking meals, confident that it won't be an exhausting task".
