Sharing is Caring

As the year that has been like no other draws to a close, we reflect on the amazing caring and sharing AT community. Through difficult times our community continues to inspire and guide us in all that we do.

Our AT Peer Mentoring Pilot programme commenced at the beginning of lock-down and it is due to our community’s ability to quickly adapt that made the pilot such a success. View our presentation from the recent PwDWA Inaugural State Conference on our research insights and outcomes.

Personifying the sharing is caring nature, Paralympian Elizabeth Edmondson showed us her renovations that have make her home safer and more accessible. AT Chatter Robyn Luke wrote about her journey of purchasing a Thermomix with her NDIS funds in our latest blog.

Acknowledging the challenges that people with disability have experienced this year, our Christmas giveaway focused on raising awareness of our supportive community. Check out the winners below.

That AT Chat team hoped you all had a happy, safe, and festive season and phew, thank goodness 2020 is over.  Bring on a brighter and more connected 2021!

AT + Me - Elizabeth Edmundson

Home is where the heart is. We were delighted to be invited into Elizabeth Edmondson's home so that we could share the renovations to her kitchen and bathroom that both look good and make these spaces so much safer and more accessible.

"Both in the bathroom and in the kitchen, I've just got the space that I never had before and it's all lower down for me."

This Bay is Someones Day

Whilst wheelchair users make up a portion of the many ACROD permit holders who use ACROD bays; it’s clear that most need space to transfer in and out of their vehicle, assemble their equipment and safely navigate their way from the car park to where they’re going.

"We need to get this everywhere!” Follow This Bay is Someones Day and join the mission to make sure ACROD Parking is available to those who need it.
